Banners

This illustrated book shows human figures playing around with banners, or banner-like objects (Plakatobjekte). Each of the scenes was chosen from a recorded performance-video. The banners have nothing written on them, no signs, no symbols, they refer to the banners used in protests, or for advertising, for presenting and transporting a message. Consisting of two wooden poles and waterproof-fabric as banner, the objects were easy to wave, to furl, and to roll out again. The chosen filmstills show the interplay of the banner and the flag-waver as lines, allowing an occasional blend of the two.
